Panama Wall Lamp by Wim Rietveld, 1950s

Description

Panama lamp model 4050, designed by Wim Rietveld (1956) and produced by Gispen.
The lamp has three hinges for easy adjustment; the red key (near the on/off button) is included for tightening. The lamp has been professionally spray-painted black and fitted with new wiring and plug. The lamp owes its name to the shape of the shade, which is reminiscent of a Panama hat.
The shade has one small dent, see photo.
Shade diameter: 40cm, with original plastic diffuser.
H x W = 80cm x 110cm.
